All Plans Are Copyrighted©
Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States (title 17, U.S. Code) to the authors of “original works of authorship,” including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This is a protection from an un-authorized individual from:
Reproducing the work in sketch copies or photo copies;
Preparing derivative works based upon any part of this plan;
I understand that the architectural drawings I have received from Hanson Builders, Inc. are secured by a copyright and are protected under Federal Statute, U.S. Copyright Act, Title 17 section 202.11.
I also understand that I do not own any right to build this home and agree that I will not bring these plans or drawings to another builder or designer allowing them to reproduce or prepare derivative works based upon these plans. I understand that I have a legal and ethical responsibility to keep all plan work confidential and may not even show this plan work to another Builder or Designer.
NOTE: Violation of Copyright is a serious offense. Damages include $100,000 statutory compensation, reimbursement for all profit lost and cost of all legal fees on Copyrighted plans. Hanson Builders secures a Federal Copyright on all of our plans. We have enforced Copyrights on three separate occasions in the past and have been successful on each occasion. |
