It was exciting to walk into the first Crestview model being built at the drywall stage and see how the rooms felt live, in 3D! The 2 places I liked best were standing behind the island in the kitchen, with a wide view of the breakfast, great and dining rooms, with the arched columns separating them without blocking the views, and also the Owner's Suite, which felt massive. It should, I guess, in that it stretches across the entire rear of the home, a full 50 feet, with the bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet and the surprise sitting room. I have seen smaller suites in homes that are twice the price!
The exterior is just getting completed, with colorful cement siding along with stone on the front, and I am pleased with how much interest was created. It will be fun for the homeowners to drive home to this one.
I am working on a second plan for Wood Crest, that will be a bit smaller, and a bit cheaper, so I'll fill you in on that one next week. I am calling it the Highpointe.
For our new neighborhood, Wood Crest on 57th and Vicksburg in Plymouth, there will be 55 single family houses that need plenty of variety of shapes and sizes of homes and colors of brick, stone, siding, trim and, of course, shingles. There is also a pool house/picnic pavillion next to the community pool that I have already designed to have a sort of north woods feel, with beams, shakes and vaulted ceilings.
The lots at Wood Crest vary in size, yet still with plenty of width for me to accommodate a 3-car garages, some with full porches, and even a rambler design. Since I had plenty of advanced warning for the first model, we were able to design it and build it a few miles away in Edgewater Estates in Maple Grove. That model is now open to give an early glimpse of the model now under construction on Lot 1, Block 1, right on the corner as you come into Wood Crest. I will post some photos of the model that I am calling The Crestview, since it will sit high on the hill overlooking the pond and beautiful boulder retaining wall.
